Who Are We, And What Do We Do?

The Y.E.M. Theatre School is a Performing Arts group based in Farnborough, Hampshire, for young people between the ages of 4 and 18+.

We offer tuition in a wide range of performing arts, including Dance (Tap, Modern Jazz, Contemporary and Ballet), Drama, Keyboard playing and Musical Theatre Singing. All pupils are encouraged to take exams (although not essential). Exams are available for all subjects, whether for beginners or at diploma level, with the following examination boards: I.S.T.D.A., P.T.D. (Dance), and L.C.M. (Singing, Drama, Keyboard, Music).

Teachers are fully trained, and we have our own Professional Musician, which is important for singing. Serious voice problems can occur later, if you have not been trained correctly, which unfortunately can happen far too often.

Private tuition for Musical Theatre Singing or Keyboard is available by arrangement. Most classes and workshop sessions take place at Ancells Farm Community Centre on Sunday afternoons, except private tuition and Dance classes, which are held at various local venues. Lessons and workshops take place outside of normal school hours and should not interfere with a student's study.

Workshop times vary between 1.00pm to 7.00pm for an hour and a half per session, depending on age.

Recording sessions in our studio for backing music and demo tapes can also be arranged.
